Kids in Discovery Preschool is a weekday ministry of Discovery United Methodist Church serving children from the age of 2 1/2 through 6 years of age.
We are a child-oriented program with developmentally appropriate activities that will prepare your child for kindergarten while incorporating basic Christian values.
We believe that early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploration, and discovery. Preschool children are naturally creative and receptive. Our staff strives to nurture and encourage these qualities in our students.We recognize that not all children have the same abilities. Our staff works with parents so that each child may enjoy as fully as possible his or her learning experience at Kids in Discovery Preschool.
Registration Paperwork for the 2010-11 school year is now available in the office.
Registration for new and returning families has begun.

Donuts With Dad
Hey Dads! Make sure you join us on Wednesday & Thursday, March 3 & 4 for Donuts With Dad. This is a great chance for you to meet your child's friends, see the classroom and share a delicious donut with your child.
Pony Pictures!
Happy Face Photography will be coming to our school on Monday & Tuesday, March 8 & 9 to take Pony Pictures. Each child will have their photo taken sitting on an adorable pony. Please dress your child in casual clothing. Happy Face will provide a cowboy hat, vest & bandana for your child to wear in the photo.
VERY IMPORTANT: Easter Egg Hunt Reminder!
Your child's class will be having an Easter Egg Hunt at the end of the month. Each teacher will be asking you to send in pre-stuffed plastic Easter eggs for the hunt. Please remember to NOT send in anything with peanuts or nut products. We have several children in our school that are highly allergic. If in doubt, you may put stickers, erasers, small toys, etc. inside the eggs. Please see us if you have any questions. Your attention to this is very much appreciated!!
Easter Parade & Program
Make sure that you join us on Thursday, April 1 for our annual Easter Parade & Program. This is a wonderful tradition at our school that you don't want to miss. Bring your child to his/her classroom at 9:00 a.m. and then proceed to the Worship Space to get a seat. Bring your camera!
Please remember that school closes immediately following the program and we will be closed until Monday, April 12 for Spring Break.
In light of recent weather events, we have decided to change our policy regarding school closings:
- If Henrico County Schools delay one or two hours, we will open the school at
10:00 a.m. In other words, we will delay one hour. This is a change from what is stated in the Parent Handbook.
- If we have a delayed opening and Lunch Bunch is scheduled for that day, we will still have Lunch Bunch.
- If Henrico Schools are closed, we will still close that day.
We appreciate your patience and hope that there will be no more interruptions to our school schedule. As always, if we have inclement weather, please check this website for the latest info regarding school closings & delays

KIDS Inclement Weather Policy
-If Henrico County Schools are closed, we are closed.
-If Henrico is delayed 1 or 2 hours, we will open at 10:00 a.m. We will have Lunch Bunch if it is scheduled for that day.
