Lorrie Rettig Zampetti has been teaching at Kids in Discovery for 18 years. She holds bachelor’s degrees in psychology and music therapy as well as an MEd. She is currently working on her doctorate in Early Childhood Education.
In addition to teaching the Busy Bear pre-kindergarten class, Lorrie is our music teacher and uses her music therapy background with both typically developing and special needs children. Lorrie has advocated for children as a representative on Henrico County’s Gifted Advisory Board and currently holds positions on several boards including Friends of the Center for the Arts. As an architect and drum instructor, her husband, Patrick, also believes in the importance of the arts in every child’s education.
Their four children actively participate in music, theater, dance, and visual arts. Lorrie looks forward to instilling a lifelong love of learning and appreciation for the arts in every student.
